46 Schools Across BCPS Earn Prestigious “Schools of Excellence” Designation from the Florida Department of Education

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce that 46 schools across the District have been designated as Schools of Excellence for the 2024/25 school year by the Florida Department of Education. This elite recognition places these schools among the top-performing institutions in the state, showcasing the District’s unwavering commitment to achievement.

The Schools of Excellence program, established by the Florida Legislature in 2017, is designed to recognize schools that demonstrate sustained academic success. To qualify, a school must rank in the 80th percentile or higher within its grade-level group for at least two of the last three academic years, based on the state’s rigorous school grade calculation. Benefits of the designation include increased school autonomy and priority in state funding opportunities.

Congratulations to BCPS Schools of Excellence:

“We are immensely proud of our students, teachers, administrators and staff whose hard work and commitment paved the way for this School of Excellence recognition,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “This significant achievement reflects the dedication of our educators and the support of our families and community partners, reaffirming our commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for every student.”
