BCPS 2022 Federal Graduation Rate Exceeds Pre-Pandemic Rates

The Florida Department of Education released the Federal Graduation Rates for the 2021/22 school year, which illustrates the Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) graduation rate at 87.2%. This rate reflects an increase from the District’s 2018/19 graduation rate of 86.2%, which is the last school year prior to the pandemic when seniors had to meet state standardized assessment requirements, including the Algebra I End-of-Course Exam and the English Language Arts 10th grade Florida Standards Assessment. These requirements were waived during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 school years.

The Federal Graduation Rate includes traditional high schools, centers and charter schools. The graduation rate for BCPS traditional high schools only (excluding centers and charter schools) is 93.9%.

Additional highlights for BCPS:

“I am proud of the progress we have made in recovering from the challenges faced during the pandemic. We continue to focus on ensuring every student is successful and reaches his or her highest potential,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Vickie L. Cartwright. “These results reflect the efforts of our teachers, administrators and staff, who work tirelessly to engage students in their learning and prepare them for their futures.”
