BCPS VEX Robotics Teams Compete at National and World Championships!

BCPS VEX Robotics Teams Compete at National and World Championships!

Congratulations to Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) students for competing in three recent National and World VEX Robotics Championship events. The students put their STEM skills to the test as they took on hundreds of teams from across the country and around the globe.  Each of the student teams designed and programmed a custom-built, automated robot that could perform specific tasks during challenges against other teams.

We are #BCPSProud of the following school teams:

VEX IQ World Championship, in Dallas, Texas

Highest level of robotics competition for students with more than 400 teams competing from around the world!

VEX Robotics U.S. Open CREATE National Competition, held in Council Bluffs, Iowa

National championship with 61 teams competing from across the country.

JROTC National Championship at VEX World, in Dallas, Texas

Highest level of competition for JROTC VEX teams, with 136 teams competing from across the country.

“Competing in the national and world championships is a tremendous accomplishment, and we are so proud of these student teams,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “Reaching this elite level of competition requires an incredible amount of dedication. The students and their coaches work hard all year long perfecting their robots; participating in challenges at the local, regional and state levels to qualify; and raising money for travel expenses. They did an outstanding job, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next season!”

The District’s VEX Robotics teams are supported by the BCPS STEM+ Computer Science Programs, Applied Learning Department. To learn more, visit browardschools.com/robotics.
