Congratulations National Champions!  Seniors Nicholas Mancini and Giorgio Rabbini win the 2019 Tournament of Champions held annually in Lexington, Kentucky.  Giorgio was 1st place speaker and Nick was 8th place speaker against 150 of the best policy debaters in the country.  This was the culminating tournament of Mancini/Rabbini’s debate career at North Broward and we are proud of them.  They have been the winningest team in North Broward history and will be remembered as exemplary leaders of the debate team.  They will be debating for University or Michigan and Dartmouth respectively and we are looking forward to see them dominate the college circuit.

We also had several other teams qualify to the national Tournament of Champions this year:  in Policy, Akash Deo & Anna Farronay and Daniel Ardity & Tyler Brown; in Gold PF, Tyler Katz & Andrew Peterson; in Silver PF Grant Cooper & Benjamin Frost.  We have a lot of young’ns performing at a high level on the national circuit and I have no doubt they will be following in the footsteps of Mancini/Rabbini.

Congratulations to Debate Coach Shree Awsare who was awarded the Rising Star Coach’s Award, which recognizes a full time coach who has made some waves on the national circuit in the first five years of their career.
