Over the course of her 50-year career in Broward County, Fonnie has been hands-on and continues to carry forward the valuable lessons she learned from Broward County Public Schools teachers, particularly those in literacy, history, creativity and self-sufficiency.  Coach Linville from Pompano Beach High School taught her to safely drive a car as a teenager, she’s never had a car accident – knock on wood – and he and his wife Marsha remain close friends. She credits her teachers with nurturing her love of reading and artistic talents which stimulated her creativity which shines brightly to this day. Fonnie continues to champion many causes she’s passionate about such as Broward Education Foundation’s School Supply Center Committee and Adopt-a-School Program among many others.
